Pens for Alzheimer's Fundraising campaign
Sunshine Geriatric Services and Ink Graphics have come together to create a fun way to raise money for the annual Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk – scheduled for September 25, 2010 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Delma Sweazey, owner of Sunshine Geriatric Services, ordered new pens for her company through Patricia Filomeno, owner of Ink Graphics. Neither one was happy with the manufacturer’s finished product. Instead of discarding the pens, they came up with a creative way to put these pens to good use!
Sunshine Geriatric Services along with Ink Graphics will participate in the Memory Walk on September 25th, and the team is raising money for this great cause. They are asking for a $1.00 plus shipping donation (of course, you can donate more if you choose), and in exchange for your donation – you will receive one of these pens as a symbol of your generosity.
Today, there are as many as 5.3 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer's destroys brain cells, causing memory loss and problems with thinking and behavior severe enough to affect work, lifelong hobbies or social life. Alzheimer’s gets worse over time, and it is fatal. Today it is the seventh-leading cause of death in the United States.
